HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022 [PRAYING THIS YEAR IS MORE FUN THAN THE LAST]

Oh yes it's time to kick off another year, a big welcome to 2022 and may it be twelve amazing months for you and yours, unlike the year we have just seen go by for many of us.

Can we just agree that the last year has not really gone to plan at all so might be best to just leave it be and move on. Been unable to attend any of the regular open days and running nights at local railway clubs, so quietly been adding to my small N Gauge collection at home, which is growing nicely now with a few additions and my Xmas gift to myself of another locomotive. Still need a place to give everything a good run but we do what we can with a test track at home. Hopefully would be nice to have some events and exhibitions to enjoy as well as visiting heritage railways and therefore the plan for 2022 will be to indulge in that more. While also considering a change of scene might do me the world of good and would be looking at a move down towards the south coast depending on how work turns out. While this blog has outlived its original remit, which was to highlight and focus on my late father's models, I do enjoy it and plan to keep it going for as long as I can with hopefully more news and events throughout the year as well any more days out I can manage. Still need to rearrange trips to places like Swanage during the coming year now that the line is connected to Wareham and they might begin to run a service from the main line which would help my plans to get there by Train. Must arrange a few days away in York when it becomes possible and a trip to the National Railway Museum plus hopefully Blaenau Ffestiniog would be great ideas for long weekends away this year. We also expect to see more of friends and family as well given the past year and an almost complete cancellation of activities then. All this would help if work was better for me too, and if I can get back to enjoying life rather than the grind of train strikes and commuting. Whatever happens make it fun, enjoy life as much as you can and be entertaining too in all you do.

Peace and love to all.
Hope you enjoy a wonderful year throughout 2022.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020 [ENERGY, POSITIVE THOUGHTS AND TRAINS]

Oh yes it's time to kick off another year, a big welcome to 2020 and may it be twelve amazing months for you and yours.

Last year had not really worked out to plan so might be best to just leave it be and move on. Have been growing my small N Gauge collection again as well as still running a few of Dads models I own when I can at open days and running nights at local railway clubs. Still enjoy that as well as visiting heritage railways and therefore the plan for 2020 will be to indulge in that more. While also considering a change of scene might do me the world of good and would be looking at a move down towards the south coast depending on how work turns out. We look forward towards the new year where we'll still have plenty of railway and modelling related events and days out to plan for and enjoy. While this blog has outlived its original remit, which was to highlight and focus on my late father's models, I enjoy it and plan to keep it going for as long as I can with hopefully more news and events throughout the year as well any more days out I can manage. Still need to rearrange trips to places like Swanage during 2020 now that the line is connected to Wareham so can get there by Train, also really fancy a few days in York and a trip to the National Railway Museum plus h
opefully Blaenau Ffestiniog would be great ideas for long weekends away this year. We also expect to see more of friends and family as well as attend a few exhibitions and open days too if we can. All this would help if work was better for me too, and if I can get back to enjoying life rather than the grind of train strikes and commuting. Whatever happens make it fun, enjoy life and travels be entertained and indeed entertaining too in all you do.

Hope you enjoy a wonderful year throughout 2020.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019 [PLEASE MAKE IT A BETTER ONE]

Yes it's time to kick off another year, a big welcome to 2019 may it be twelve amazing months for you and yours.

Last year was rather difficult for me with an office move into Central London and then the departure of my managers who were really good for me so there are not many good people left. A change of scene might do me the world of good. We look forward towards the new year where we'll still have plenty of railway and modelling related events and days out to plan for and enjoy. While this blog has outlived its original remit, focusing on Dad's models, I enjoy it and plan to keep it going for as long as I can with hopefully more news and events throughout the year as well any more days out I can manage.

As I still have a few of Dads models to display I hope to get these out for a run a few times a year, am also considering getting a few bits of N Gauge again which I used to collect and build layouts, the advantage here being that they do not take up a lot of space, but so far they appear to be very expensive and the obsession with DCC I really do not get. I have therefore been
picking up a few older items too for myself, some are non runners and will be trying to do a little maintenance to get them going and would like to pick up a few shunters and wagons and make a small shunting yard layout, would also like a DMU/Railcar so will see what I can do later in the year with that idea.

Trips away to Swanage, York and hopefully Blaenau Ffestiniog would be great ideas for long weekends away this year. We also expect to see more of friends and family as well as attend a few exhibitions and open days too if we can. Whatever happens make it fun, enjoy life and travels be entertained and indeed entertaining too in all you do.

Hope you enjoy a wonderful 2019.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018 [LET'S MAKE IT A BETTER ONE]

Time to kick off another year, a big welcome to 2018 may it be twelve amazing months for you and yours.

I know for me it will be a busy one with a change of office location to Central London on the horizon but we'll still have plenty of railway and modelling related events and days out to plan for and enjoy. While this blog has outlived its original remit, focusing on Dad's models, I enjoy it and plan to keep it going for as long as I can with hopefully more news and events throughout the year as well any more days out I can manage.

As I still have a few of Dads models to display I hope to get these out for a run a few times a year, am also considering getting a few bits of N Gauge again which I used to collect and build layouts, the advantage here being that they do not take up a lot of space, but so far they appear to be very expensive and might limit myself to a few shunters and wagons and make a small shunting yard layout, will see what I can do later in the year with that idea.

Trips out to Swanage, York or somewhere similar would be great ideas for long weekends away this year. Try and attend a few exhibitions and open days too if we can. Whatever happens make it fun, enjoy life and travels be entertained and indeed entertaining too in all you do.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017 [MAKE IT SPECIAL]

Welcome to 2017

I trust that you all enjoyed a peaceful Christmas and celebrated with your family and loved ones. It's now time to put the past away (since 2016 has been a bit pants to say the least) and now move onward, lets start 2017 in a really
good way, being happy, smiling more, and doing positive activities that will make the year more enjoyable.

We did manage a few things though looking back a little especially the days out on the railways and the open days with the Hillingdon Railway Modellers which are always a good day out.

There will be plenty more of this to look ahead to in the next twelve months, overdue trips to York and North Wales with possible long weekends away to Swanage when they open their Main Line connection at Wareham.

Lets make a start the New Year well and in good spirits, 2017 can only be as good as YOU make it.

Peace and Love

NEW YEAR 2016

Welcome to 2016

I trust that you all enjoyed a peaceful Christmas and celebrated with your family and loved ones.

We had a very busy year in 2015 and looking forward to this one it looks no different. Have a long list of places to visit and then there's several big exhibitions too as well as the Hillingdon Railway Modellers open days which are always a good day out.

My main trips are likely to be long weekends to York and North Wales (Llandudno and then Blaenau Ffestiniog) but plans are still rathe
r fluid at present.

Start the New Year well and in good spirits, 2016 will only be as good as YOU make it.

Peace and Love
