ALTON MODEL RAILWAY GROUP - FEBRUARY EXHIBITION 2017

The 2017 February Exhibition will be held on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February at the Eggar's School in Alton.

from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday
10.30am to 4pm on Sunday.

The exhibition will see our usual wide variety of layouts, traders and demonstrations.This years main demonstration is titled 'making tracks' It will cover all aspects of model track work including choosing the right track, electrical connections, track laying, painting, and ballasting. 

In addition to 'making tracks' there will be a number of other modelling demonstrations located throughout the exhibition including etched brass kit building, DCC demystified with Bob Perrat, model tree making, and David Cole demonstrating On30 rolling stock scratch building.

  • Malix, Swiss HOm, modern summer scene including a spiral
  • Arigna, OOn3, 1930s Irish narrow gauge (Below right).
    Features a proposed but not built branch of the Sligo, Leitrim & Northern Counties Railway, which straddled the Irish border.

  • Prospect Point, HO & HOn3, USA Montana logging
  • Treloar Sidings, O, 1950s BR(W) Cornish branch line
  • Figges Marsh TMD, O / BR Blue diesels / Diesel maintenance depot– exhibited by AMRG Club members in memory of the late Denis Stevens
  • Stourcombe, 4mm OO, 1950s BR / S&DR
  • Ferrocarril San Maria Gandia, HO / HOe, 1950s Spain
  • Ingleton Sidings, 4mm OO, BR(W) based on the famous “shunting puzzle”. The layout is built to fit on an ironing board and features auto coupling, electric point operation and lineside CCTV all in 47 inches in length.
