BRISTOL O GAUGE GROUP SHOW 2017

BRISTOL 7mm EXHIBITION
Sunday 22nd January 2017 
[10:00 am -- 4:00 pm]

BAKEWELL STREET

This is the first major exhibition of the new year and is once again being held at the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol (near Filton Abbey Wood). 


It's their 22nd show and already have 30+ confirmed layouts on show as well as over 60 trade stands, with refreshments and facilities for disabled access as you would expect. 


Admission is still only £9 for Adults however members of the O Gauge Guild can get in for £7 upon presentation of their membership card (so don't leave home without it). In addition Wives and Children are admitted FREE which can't be bad.

The nearest stations are Filton Abbey Wood for local services from Bristol and Wales, also Bristol Parkway for mail line services from London, Swindon and the West is only a 10-15 min walk away though plenty of taxi's outside the station. 


As it's only on the Sunday its a fair chance there's service engineering around the country so best check on Network Rail in case that affects your travelling. 


FRECCLESHAM STATION

There are over 30 layouts expected for this years exhibition the following are a sample of some of those being shown from a Fictitious S&D layout, various branch lines, a selection of Industrial lines, BR at various time scales, even a 0n30 Narrow Gauge offering.

Gillian & Brown, Industrial railways 1950/1960, presented by John Rodway

Wykes River, 0n30 a narrow gauge offering, presented by Dave Riches, Weymouth

Eldon's Siding, a combined std gauge & industrial offering, presented by Peter Hollins, Poole

Winterly Wharf, a GWR branch line, presented by John Shaw, Southampton

Milton Abbas, a fictitious S&D line, presented by John Bowden, North Devon

West Wilts Club layout, any thing & every thing could be seen, presented by members of the West Wilts 0 Gauge Group

3 Rail Tin Plate modelling, a selection of items from Old & New manufactures, presented by Mike Thomas, Wiltshire
