Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre is set in a 36 acre site in the South Downs National Park. The Industrial Railway Collection at the Amberley Museum in West Sussex has become one of the most important collections of industrial railway equipment in the UK.

The history of the collection actually goes back further than even the initial concept of the Museum at Amberley with the formation of the Brockham collection and acquisitions by the Narrow Gauge Railway Society during the 1950s and 1960

The Museum is a registered charity and relies on a volunteer workforce.

Demonstrations and transport services are subject to the availability of volunteer operators and self-employed crafts people.

The buses and trains are free on site and run from 11am to 4pm subject to volunteer availability, lighting and weather conditions

Dogs are welcome on leads, but please note they are not permitted in the cafe buildings.

Most exhibition areas are accessible by wheelchair but the nature trails may be unsuitable due to slopes and steps. Please call the Museum Office for further information.

At Amberley the Limeburners Cafe serves hot & cold snacks and is available for group lunch bookings on normal weekdays. On busy event days the Fairmile Cafe is also open for light lunches and traditional Cream Teas where visitors can relax and enjoy table service.
