LOVE AND MISS YOU DAD. ALWAYS IN MY HEART. Xx
Mr Geoffrey Tyler
07-02-1934 -- 23-07-2012
Miss you loads Dad. Xx
No matter where I am or what I am doing my thoughts are always with you Dad x
No amount of time that passes will change the way I feel; I hurt, I love, I smile, I cry. It's not all about me, it's about what feelings that I've lost, and how much love I have for both you and Mum too. Dad you taught me to be strong, so am sorry that I am letting you down. I can never be strong enough to accept that you are no longer here.
I miss you so much xx

OO GAUGE WESTWARD 0-6-0 WHITE METAL KIT SOUTHERN CLASS 700
WESTWARD WHITE METAL KIT
4mm Scale "OO" GAUGE
CLASS 700 -- 0-6-0 -- No. 688
BUILT TO RUN ON THE SOUTHERN REGION
THE TENDER IS FULL OF COAL AND HAS HANDMADE TOOLS LAID OUT ON THE TOP TOO.
PREDOMINATELY A FREIGHT LOCOMOTIVE THE 700 CLASS WAS BUILT IN GLASGOW FOR THE LSWR (SR), WOULD HAVE BEEN FOUND ON THE EXTENSIVE MARSHALLING YARDS OF EASTLEIGH AND FELTHAM (OUR HOMETOWN) AND THIS MODEL WAS THE FIRST OF THIS CLASS TO BE WITHDRAWN BY BR IN 1957 FOLLOWING AN ACCIDENT AT STAINES.
"On 9 August 1957, locomotive No 30688 was in a head-on collision with a train formed of two electric multiple units at Staines, Middlesex after the latter departed against a danger signal".
The locomotive was the first of it's class to be withdrawn a month after it's accident. Sadly none of the class were saved for preservation and while Hornby made a version of this loco it's not a patch on the WESTWARD KIT version Dad built.
At this stage the model was in excellent condition despite being stored in its original box for the past 20+ years. I wish I could have kept them all he made some wonderful models and the lucky people who now have some of these I really hope they are enjoying them and giving them plenty of run time.
4mm Scale "OO" GAUGE
CLASS 700 -- 0-6-0 -- No. 688
BUILT TO RUN ON THE SOUTHERN REGION
ONCE COMPLETED THE MODEL WAS PAINTED BLACK WITH A SOUTHERN GREEN LINING AND GOLD "SOUTHERN - No.688" ON THE TENDER. WHILE MANY MODELLERS I'M SURE WOULD PREFER TO WEATHER THEIR MODELS I DO ENJOY TO SEE THE DETAILED CAB INTERIOR INCLUDES DRIVER AND FIREMAN AND OTHER INTRICATE DETAILS WHICH WERE TYPICAL OF MY FATHERS WORK.
THE TENDER IS FULL OF COAL AND HAS HANDMADE TOOLS LAID OUT ON THE TOP TOO.

BEACONSFIELD MODEL RAILWAY CLUB 51st EXHIBITION [SAT 7th JULY]
LOCATION:
The Beaconsfield School,
Wattleton Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire HP9 1SJ
OPENING TIMES: 10.30am - 5pm
ADMISSION: Adults £5.00 Children £2.50
This will be the clubs 51st Exhibition, being held once again in it's now regular 'first weekend of July' slot. As usual there will be full signposting to guide you in from whichever direction you are travelling from. Generous free car parking capacity. Free programme (while socks last).
There should be 18 layouts on show, covering all the popular gauges and as well as the usual UK railways, representing both the American and European Continents . We should also have at least 14 Traders, offering a wide range of products, who should be able to cater for most of your needs. The club's popular own secondhand sales stand will also be in full swing. Because we are using the stage area this year, wheelchair users will be admitted free to recognise their lack of access to the stage (reached via steps). Access to the rest of the exhibition should not prove to be a problem. We have links with the Bekonscot Model Village (the oldest model village in the world) which has an extensive Gauge 1 outdoor railway. This will be open all day on 7th July and is only a short drive away from the exhibition, allowing a full day out for the family by visiting both events. Discount available for those visiting both the exhibition and model village. Our extensive professional catering is well known for it's quality and wide choice of food on offer.
